ART IN CONSTRUCTION - EHRLICHSAAL IN THE
NEW FEDERAL MINISTRY OF HEALTH IN BERLIN

The artist duo Karl-Heinz Einberger and Valentin Goderbauer had already won the competition for the art on the building in the Ehrlichsaal of the new Federal Ministry of Health in Berlin in 2019.
During the planning process, it was realised that glazing and doors would have to be equipped with fire protection requirements due to the escape route situation. Originally, the project was to be realised with a metal construction. However, there were no existing system solutions that could also fulfil these dimensions.
were able to depict.

The consortium (ARGE) ÖPP BMG Mauerstraße Berlin approached us to examine the technical feasibility of the project.
By linking ARNOLD-Glas fire protection approvals and existing interior door tests, we were able to map the construction.
One difficulty here was the installation of the artist's glass, as this was to be connected to the fire-resistant glass.
Finally, transport on the construction site presented us with challenges, as the sizes and weights of the fire-resistant glass had to be taken into account.

The result is a kind of hall of mirrors with a graphically designed reflective pyrolytic coating on flat glass.

Delivery can be made nationwide. Deliveries to other European countries are also possible on request.
