In test procedures according to DIN 4102-2 or after DIN EN 1363-1 („Fire resistance tests - Part 1: General requirements“), the respective fire resistance class must be indicated by corresponding Fire resistance tests must be verified. How is the F30 (EI30) fire protection window constructed?

We use special fire-resistant glass from certified glass production for our F30 fire-resistant windows. This fire-resistant glass contains colour-neutral fire protection gel, as this gel has virtually no inherent colour, resulting in the best light transmission values. The glass panes are also characterised by their special chemical and physical composition. F30 fire-resistant windows are fire-resistant windows. They prevent fire flashover and thus keep escape and rescue routes clear. They therefore play an important role in border or corner buildings. The use of F30 fire-resistant windows is specified in the respective state building regulations. In principle, the following applies: If a window is to be installed in a required fire protection wall, this project can only be realised with a fire protection window. An F30 fire protection window does not necessarily have to be used. Fire protection windows F60 to F90 can also be used. The professional installation of an F30 fire protection window must be proven to the building inspectorate by a declaration from the installing company. Our range includes F30 opening fire-resistant windows

Openable F30 windows are now an integral part of modern fire protection solutions. We manufacture F30 fire protection window with One or two opening sashes. F30 fire protection for windows - should they be able to be opened?

Our F30 windows can be opened. In principle, however, fire-resistant F30 windows must be self-closing due to their protective function. Exceptions are fire-resistant F30 windows that are used exclusively for cleaning and maintenance purposes. F30 fire-resistant windows that can be opened by means of a hold-open system and close automatically in the event of a fire, thus ensuring a tight seal, have also been tested in Europe. Movable, self-closing fire-resistant glazing generally does not have a tilt function. This is only permitted in individual cases for fire protection purposes. For this reason, self-closing fire protection windows F30 can generally only be realised with side-hung sashes.

F30 fire-resistant windows can also be made of wood

F30 fire protection made of wood resists flames much better than you would expect. The frame of the F30 fire-resistant windows chars first in the event of a fire and thus provides additional resistance. We have been able to test the resistance of softwoods (e.g. pine) in our own fire tests. F30 fire-resistant windows with wooden frames can withstand temperatures of up to 200 ℃. They remain stable for longer and smoke less. If the heat becomes so strong that panes burst, wooden frames also provide protection here. Panes in wooden frames burst much later than glass inserted in plastic frames, as they deform from a temperature of 110 ℃. As a result, the pane has less grip, breaks and at the same time allows more oxygen into the room. This additionally fans the flames.
